By Emily A. A thoroughbred is a type of racing horse. It is a very big and strong mammal. Thoroughbreds usually live on farms and are trained to race in races. A thoroughbred gives it's foal or colt milk until it is old enough to eat grass and hay. A thoroughbred is protected by humans and they protect themselves by kicking and running away. They are usually brown with a black mane. Back in 1688 thoroughbreds had three different names: Byerly Turk, Darly Arabian, and Godolphin Arabian. They usually never live in the wild. They are protected by law because if you have a thoroughbred you have to take care of it and you cannot steal them. The thoroughbred is not on the endangered list.
