Many have been confused on building the various branches and connecting family in the family tree.
And rightfully so

. The tree actually builds itself based on your entries of members and then making sure to expand the boxes of the new member information page to enter more details and relationships. ie. mother/father and spouse.
Even though my parents have passed, I had to add them as members so that they
would appear in the drop down menu under "parents"
In order to show my moms parents, I had to add George and Ida each, as members
and then their names appeared in the drop down menu for my mom, to show them
as her parents. Once my parents, Ray and Shirley were added, then my brothers could
choose them in the drop down menu as their parents. the website family tree software
will automatically put two and two together and build the tree. So to continue the tree
I have to have myself and Sara entered as members, then enter my children, and again
at the bottom of new member, choose from the drop down menu,Sara and myself as
their parents. you can enter minimal amount of information as kids or grandkids
or parents or grandparents (that have passed) dont need email addresses or home phone#.
And of course, no need to check the box at the bottom to send the member a welcome
message if they have passed.
Always rember to put your partner/spouse in(the "D"

is for divorced so dont click that
unless you are.
Under Significant dates, you can put birthdays or date of passing, more details has
maiden names and gender, Location, and then of course relationships.
Remember, family members must be added in order for them to appear in the drop down menu
to be able to choose, parents and spouses.
Once the members are added, it will take some amount of time, for the family tree to
refresh itself.
Hope this helps and if you have any more questions, you can post or just contact me using
