 Day of Reunion

The Day of the Reunion

Sunday, the 25th of May, 2008

I am so happy to report I have secured the Group Camp Dining Hall for our reunion this year!  We will have access to this building and surrounding area from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.  The building is two stories with the air conditioned dining hall upstairs with handicap access.  The room comes furnished with tables and chairs.  It has a porch and windows on one side that have a view of the lake.  There is a ladies restroom with two stalls and a men’s restroom with one stall and a urinal.  Under the dining hall is an area where children can play. Also available for our use will be a half basketball court and a volley ball net.  I’m looking forward to a good old fashioned day of fun.. eating, talking, playing, eating, picture taking, napping, sharing, kids laughing and crying, eating, ice cream making, singing, and whatever else we can think of…. Hope you are picturing this day in your mind and setting your internal clock to come home…

 Love Hearing from You

I love getting phone calls...especially from family and not bill collectors! We have three new members to the web site:

                                1.  Angie Reeves Clan 2, wife of Bobby Reeves, son of our late Uncle W.C. (wonder what you're up to where you are? whatever it is I bet you're talking up a storm!) and our late Aunt Francis (we miss you.)

                                2.  Jeanie Reeves Clan 6, Uncle Jimmy's Daughter (who should have been a model), so HAPPY to have you join us, and

                                3.  Larry Reeves  Clan 7 aka Little Larry or Good Looking Cousin Larry not to be confused with Good Looking Uncle Larry Clan 11. Larry is the son of our beloved late Uncle Walter Clan 7 (we miss you Uncle Walter but know you're having a GREAT time where you are.) and our great Aunt Barbara Ray.

Now that ya'll are members, feel free to add your family to the family tree. You add your children and/or who ever is missing as members from your family and link them up -- saves ME from having to do all the WORK -- and lets YOU in on some of the FUN!

Please make note of another correction to the address book: Jeanie and Chris Bleeker's (6) address is

818 Church Street

Navasota, TX 77868

I believe all other corrections have been reported thus far.

If you know of a correction for the family directory that has not been reported please let me know.  In addition, if you know of someone in your family who DOES NOT HAVE AN E-MAIL address, I am requesting that you take it upon yourself to print this NEWS out and mail it to them so they will have a copy of this information. After looking over the list of “Clans”, it looks like there is at least one Clan member per Clan who has an e-mail address that could take on this responsibility. Who knows, this might build more Communication between the families!  Our cousin Rolanda Ingerson Clan 1, daughter of Aunt Pearl, actually came up with this idea and volunteered to do the mail out to all of the families. But since I just finished with the Christmas newsletter, I decided it was cost prohibitive and TRUST ME, TIME CONSUMING – ask Uncle Jimmy Clan 6  and Cousin Paul Clan 6!  At this time, there are not actually funds in the family budget for mail outs and I have already used all of the allotted money I was given for postage for the 2008 Family Reunion. However, I want everyone to have an opportunity to enjoy the NEWS and IMPORTANT POSTINGS.

I know of a couple of family members who do not own computers but who have e-mail addresses and go to the public library to access the web and have enjoyed the family web site there. So if you have a family member who does not own a computer but would like to keep up with the NEWS, encourage them to try the library!

I invite and encourage all of you to visit the site AT LEAST once a month to enter a message into the journal to let us know how your individual family is doing.  Do you have trials and tribulations? Are you making lots of money? Is your neighbor driving you crazy? Is your boss good looking? Does your back hurt – duh – you are of the Reeves lineage – of course your back hurts!!! Is your car running? How are the gas prices where you are? What does lettuce look like? Got any good cleaning tips? Cooked anything good lately? Seen a good movie? Do you need new underwear? Bought anything new lately? Was Santa Claus good to you? Received any new bills lately? Have you gotten rid of all your credit cards yet? Heard a good sermon lately? OK..and what about Hillary? Got any feelings about HER? Ok, all caps reveals a little about my feelings about her!  You get the idea….

Each time I speak with one of you, I get so excited about the REUNION  can’t wait to see each and every one of you. Hope to see some news in the journals.

                                                                Love,

Patricia Clan 5 (Wife, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Aunt)

 First Post
Hi Everyone...By now you should have received your Christmas Newsletter. I have already heard from cousin "Little" Larry..."Ooops"!! Left his name off the coming to camp list...Sorry about that and he has a new phone number 601-955-1239 as well as an email address lreeves@sfbli.com. Also heard from my MOM of all people...She had an entire page missing from her directory...Oh, well...the best of intentions..
I am sad to report I heard from cousin Sandra that her Mom, Nina was in the hospital last night with a sudden onset of bells palsey. Please be in prayer for her.  She has the appearance of a stroke and may or may not get her facial muscles back and seems to be in a lot of pain. In addition she is scheduled for more surgery on her legs in the upcoming months. Nina is the sister of Charles David.
Would love to have all of you post your Christmas pictures on the web and/or share a Christmas story on the journal.
All of you...Be Well, Be Safe...
Love Patricia
