.
Val is out of the hospital and out visiting friends between resting up. His report of the Labor Day Weekend activities: "Went to moms and watched vern cut down a tree. It fell on their porch. Mary, Sierra I wenet to see Steve and his brothers and family. We also visited al and kathy. Took a few walks to my chair in the yard. Meanwhile I slept alot. LOL. Val"
.
Yes, a tree was cut down, and it fell on Grandma Darlene's porch area. Photo can be seen at www.olsonorigins.com ("Family Photos" tab). Darlene Olson reports minimal damage. The porch's roof seems to be OK, though the gate's latch isn't working too well. Vern plans to repair damage soon. The tree has been cleared, and parts of the trunk are being used in the driveway to help cars understand where they are supposed to be stopping.
