Listed below are the major steps and information about the Battle of Armageddon, the cosmic battle of the ages.
Who? all of the nations of the world vs. Israel
When? towards the end of the Tribulation and before Christ's second coming
Where? in Greek, Armageddon is translated into har-megiddo, this means hill of megiddo. This is an actual place in modern day Israel and is overlooking the Valley of Jezreel.
Why? to make war with Satan and judge Satan's allies, the nations want to get rid of the world's "problem solver", the Jews
THE STAGES:
1. The Euphrates river dries up and all of the nations gather at Babylon for the march on the Jews
2. Babylon is destroyed while the Antichrist and his troops are there.
3. Jerusalem will be defeated by the Antichrist's forces.
4. The Antichrist moves southward toward the Christians gathered at Petra or Bozrah.
5. Israel will confess its national sin and plead for the Messiah to return, they will repent for 2 days.
6. Christ will return to Earth with the raptured believers to defeat the Antichrist at Bozrah, he will miraculously defeat them along with the help of his angelic army.
7. Christ himself will defeat the Antichrist and return to Jerusalem to defeat the remaining enemies.
8. Christ will stand upon the Mount of Olives in a victory descent and a number of cataclysmic events will occur signalling the end of the tribulation and the beginning of eternity.
